A quick look at the things most people report to the council using Fixmystreet.com in Leith shows that the main problems that people identify for attention relate to litter, dog fouling and broken street lights.
Every now and again something a little out of the ordinary pops up. Like this anonymous report.
It’s not really something for the council to fix. More an idea.
The report says:“This old mural space on halmyre street has become a complete eyesore and is in need of some rapid attention. I see a community project involving local primary/secondary schools in the design of a new artwork – get kids involved and it might not get so heavily vandalised. I have lived here for 25 years and remember the original mural celebrating the history of leith industry and leith station- any chance we can fix this please.”
Well, is there any chance we can fix this? We’ve already had contact from one local artist interested in the project. If you would be interested in helping to organise a project to restore, renew or replace this mural then please do get in touch with your ideas or enthusiasm and we’ll see what we can do.
