Our last planned community clean-up on Leith Links was cancelled because of the snow.
This time, we’re hopeful that spring has finally sprung – and so it’s time to go out and do some spring cleaning. We aim to meet at St Marks Park (see the map) at 11am on Sunday the 14th of April, so that we can tackle the cycle path, St Marks Park, and the Rebraes Weir paths by the Water of Leith.
We’ve deliberately organised this event to coincide with a series of other clean-ups organised by SUSTRANS on the North Edinburgh Cycle Network, and the hope is that by working together we’ll be able to make a big difference all along the path in one go.
If you can spare a couple of hours please do come down to lend a hand. It could make a huge difference to the path network for the coming year.
Staff from local firm Toshiba Medical Visualisation Systems will be coming down to pitch in too, and we’ve organised for the council to provide us with litter pickers, gloves and bags AND we’ve also paid Out of The Blue to provide lunch for 20 volunteers at 12.30pm for free.
The other clean-up points along the route are at the Bangholm Outdoor Centre, the Crewe Toll Bridge and at Wester Drylaw Drive. More information on the Innertube Map.
