“The Haymarket” development might not be in Leith, but we thought our readers would be interested in knowing that there’s a public enquiry into the development proposal happening on Monday the 25th.
The Inquiry is being held at the Academy Meeting Room, Holiday Inn, 132 Corstorphine Road and is scheduled to run until 5 June. Members of the public can attend.
We’re pleased to see that the Cockburn Association are leading the campaign for development on this site that respects the Edinburgh skyline. As you can see from the photo above, if this building goes ahead it’ll have a huge impact on the city for miles around.
It’ll be interesting to hear what conclusions the inquiry comes to. Afterall, Greener Leith has been making similar points about the heights of some of the buildings proposed for the Leith Waterfront regeneration.
