Back in June, we asked readers of this blog to suggest places where a pedestrian crossing was needed.
Although we reported some feedback we received from council officers at the time, the January Transport and Environment Committee meeting confirmed a finalised list of pedestrian crossings and it includes three suggestions from this blog.
The report shows that in this financial year, the ‘missing crossing’ at London Road/Meadowbank Terrace is to be completed.
And in the following financial year, there are plans to build additional crossings at:
- Great Junction Street
- Ocean Drive, between BHS exit and the roundabout.
- Henderson Street at junction with Great Junction Street.
Sadly, it would seem that calls for a signalised crossing on Restalrig Road look unlikely to go anywhere in the next couple of years at least.
The full report is available on the council website here.
