Given that we’ve just learned that SUSTRANS have put Leith Walk in the top ten of their worst streets in the UK to cycle on, we thought it important to mention the Pedal on Parliament campaign.
The issue of cycle safety is high on the political agenda at the moment. In order to persuade politicians at all levels that more needs to be done to make the streets safer for cycling – that rare thing – a genuinely grassroots campaign – has sprung up based around a massed ride on parliament planned for the 28th of April.
It will coincide with a similar ride planned in London on the same day.
The hope is that politicians will heed an eight point manifesto, which you can read here.
The event has even inspired some sort of poetry…[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfKyXFVvDho&w=550&h=309]
