Ten public toilets throughout Edinburgh could close as part of a bid by the council to save £300,000.
On the list of facilities earmarked for closure are the toilets on London Road, near the top of Easter Road.
However, another local convenience, the Taylor Garden’s public toilets, just off Great Junction Street, appear to have narrowly escaped the axe.
An October 2014 report had also suggested that these toilets could also have been closed.
Other public toilets in the wider North East Edinburgh area that look likely to close include those at Cannonmills, Joppa, and Granton Square.
The council is said to be keen to work with local businesses near the facilities that could close in an effort to provide public access to toilet facilities, at least whilst they’re open.
A final decision will be taken once the results of another public consultation are known. The consultation will run online for six weeks from April 13.
