In urban parks vandalism is too often a problem. This poem was attached to a tree that had obviously been destroyed by vandals in King George V park. We wonder whether it gave any of the people involved in vandalising the tree pause for thought? Can poems be more effective that calling the police in the long run?
However, it seems the Friends of King George V and Scotland Street Parks are undeterred. They plan to organise a community clean-up event on Sunday the 11th of October at 3pm. Everyone is welcome to join in. The more local residents get stuck into improving their local parks – the less chance there is of vandalism.
