Christmas Hamper Appeal

Snow is falling, all around us, children playing, having fun. Christmas is on the way but some of our neighbours in Edinburgh need a bit of help with their Christmas dinner and presents this year.  Destiny Angles Christmas Hamper Appeal aims to supply 300 families in Edinburgh with dinners and presents this year.

If you want to help, putting together a Christmas hamper is a fun activity to do as a family, with a bunch of friends, as a workplace or as an individual. You will be matched with a family and told the ages of children you’re buying presents and a Christmas Dinner for.

I caught up with Judith Watson, Head of social Action Initiatives at Destiny Church Leith to find out more about their Christmas Hamper Appeal and how we can help:

I want to say a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who donated a Christmas hamper.

We gave out 207 hampers which blessed over 350 people with food, presents and festive treats.

    All the hampers looked great.

The feedback has been amazing. One organisation said the hampers exceeded expectation.
One elderly gentleman had not received a present in 20 years. He nearly cried when he received his.

Many families are now able to have Christmas dinners and have presents for their children when otherwise they would not have been able to.

So again THANK YOU. You have been a massive blessing. The hampers looked fantastic and had very happy recipients receiving it.
