The City of Edinburgh Council is turning its attention to what might happen to Leith Walk when the utilities on the street have finally been sorted out.
On the 21st of March a public meeting was held in Lorne Primary School, to sound out local residents over whether they would wish to see the council hold detailed consultation on redesigning the street.
The answer both within the room, and online seems to have been a resounding yes.
Whilst we wait to see what the council will do next, the folk at Leith Open Space are already talking about organising a community led workshop on the street.
In the meantime, we thought we ought to pull together some of the key online reaction, so that others can get a feel for the discussion and ideas that people put forwards. The event generated more than 80 tweets on the #visionforleithwalk hashtag alone, so if we missed your tweet out, please accept our apologies in advance.
